Next Tuesday and Wednesday is Picture Day at St. Andrew Preschool. Pictures will be taken in the Sanctuary. If you want sibling pictures, Maggie will schedule them for Tuesday evening. Her email is firstname.lastname@example.org Next week, you’ll be able to see proofs and make orders in the Atrium.

Sweet Potato Sales
Please support the preschool and local farmer, Jake Browder, who raises sweet potatoes in Smithfield. Order forms were placed in folders. Ask friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to buy a box of sweet potatoes for the holidays. Orders need to be in by October 13th.
Field Trip to Darden’s Country Store Pumpkin Patch
We will meet you at the Pumpkin Patch for lots of fall fun on Saturday, October 14th at 3:00pm . We don’t provide transportation from school. Darden’s Country Store is located in Smithfield, Virginia at 16249 Bowling Green Road, which happens to be at the corner of Bowling Green Road and Carroll Bridge Road. Chapel lessons this month will center around rules and the Ten Commandments. A Chapel Newsletter will be sent home with your child so that families can also share at home. Chapel is next week.
The Fall Festival is this Thursday from 9:45-12:00. Parents and siblings are invited to join the festivities. Playful Pigs parents must attend for their child to participate
If you weren’t able to sign up for Date Nights in September, you can join anytime. October’s Great Date Night is Sunday, October 15 from 4:00 – 7:00pm. You don’t have to be a member to come. Childcare is provided.

Fall Parties, Parade and Pumpkin Patch
The Fall Party and Parade is on October 30th and 31st. Room Parents will be in touch about what is needed for the party. The children will come dressed in their Halloween Costume the morning of their parade and party. For the parade, each child will need to bring a bag of candy and a small pumpkin that a child could pick up. You can leave both on the table by the sign-in table. Parents are invited to the parade to pass out candy, the pumpkin patch and party. They are great photo ops!

Diversity Week – a celebration of what makes us unique. In-house fieldtrip. Special traveling museum shows clothing, foods, toys, differently abled and more.
Christmas Program – our holiday program provides a warm reminder of the best gift of all.
Pumpkin Patch – preschoolers take a hay ride and pick their own pumpkin.
Preschool Sunday – Children sing at the 9:00am service and families are treated to a special reception afterwards.
Doughnuts for Dads– and uncles, and grandpas too! Join your child for donuts.
Strawberry Picking – Children get their own baskets and a coloring book.
Muffins for Moms – . Enjoy delicious muffins with your child.
Moving Up Ceremony
Support of mission projects– March of Dimes, Salvation Army Soup Kitchen and Peas for Peace
End of Year Carnival– games, bounce house, crafts, and more!
Moving up Ceremony – All children are recognized for having completed a year of preschool. Our PreKindergarten students march in wearing caps and gowns. A special video is shown and is sure to cause a few tears.
God Bless Our Troops – Chapel services celebrates and recognizes our miitary members and their families.
